| The Gamo P-23 is a 177-calibre air pistol styled to resemble a real handgun, the SIG-Sauer P-230. I must confess that I have always felt that an air pistol should look like a ... well, like an air pistol. But this is an undeniably handsome piece, and is well-balanced and nicely made into the bargain. The main frame and grip are polymer, the barrel assembly an alloy. The P-23 measures 190x137x24mm, weighs 470g and has a 4.3" tip-up rifled steel barrel with 10 grooves, right-hand twist. (The number of grooves is surprising, considering the smallness of the bore.) Although I have used the term 'air pistol' this is not strictly correct, as the P-23 is a powered by a 12 gram CO2 cylinder.
