The AK47 bayonets are characterized by ears on the pommel, which go around the barrel of the rifle to aid in mounting; a handle with a scale on each side; and a long, straight spear point type blade with fullers on each side. This style bayonet was adopted by Bulgaria in 1955. Our Replicated 1955 Bulgarian AK47 Bayonet Type 1 is replicated from that historic piece. This entire bayonet is constructed from stainless steel with a black finish except for the wooden stained handle. The blade is a spear point blade with a single edge and fullers on both sides to lighten the blade. The guard features a barrel ring to slide onto the barrel of your gun and for mounting the pommel has ears to secure the bayonet in place. Bayonets were used in close combat because they could be quickly pulled out of the enemy’s body to face the next opponent in a matter of seconds. Included is a nylon sheath with belt loop wear on your person as a hunting knife. Take a piece of replicated history home with you today. Please note that this is a replicated piece and may or may not fit on an AK47 rifle.
